How would you feel if one day you woke up and got the phone call you been dodging? You would soon become a teen parent, 9 months to be exact. Even though teen pregnancy is 100% preventable it happens and when it happens what can you do? You have 3 options: Adoption,Abortion and Accepting it. The 3 A's. They are about 750,000 teen pregnancies annually. Teen pregnancy rose in the year 2005 to 2006 and again in 2006 to 2007 (http://www.nytimes.com/2010/01/27/us/27teen.html?_r=2) so you could just imagine how much it rose now in the year 2010.
Adoption is onone of the
Abortion is the second choice. In the United states out of the 50 states 34 of our states allow abortion. About 52% of abortions are made by young adults under 25. Of those 52% 19% of teen choose it. If your choosing abortion,2 doctors have to approve it, its the law. Also it is all confidential. If your 16 and under the doctors dont tell your parents but its best if you do. In the year 2000 they were about 1,800 places to get abortions in the U.S. And why would you choose abortion? 3 reasons: 1. you might feel like you can't afford a baby right now,2.your worried that a child can ruin you future and 3. you dont want to enter parenthood alone( http://www.pregnantteenhelp.org/options/abortion-statistics/)
The final choice is Accepting it.Going through with the pregnany. Having and keeping the baby. Most teens choose this. in fact about 67% choose this one. Also only 40% of teen parents graduate high school compare to 75% of children who wait till they are older than 20 to start a family.
